How Many Headphones Do I Need?
The short answer: one headphone for every guest who will be on the dance floor at the same time, plus a small cushion. That is usually less than your total guest count, but not by as much as people hope.
The formula
Headphones = guest count × floor rate + 10%
The floor rate is the share of guests dancing at once. It varies by event:

Why not just one per guest?
You can, and for anything under 50 guests we recommend it. Above that, some guests will never leave the bar, the photo booth, or the porch. Headphones that sit on the table all night are wasted. We carry 75 headsets, so tell us the headcount and we’ll size it together.
Why the 10% cushion
Headphones get set down and forgotten. A guest steps out and comes back to find theirs gone. A cushion means nobody waits. It also covers the vendor, photographer, and the DJ who wants to hear what the crowd hears.
Weddings specifically
Count everyone who RSVP’d yes, not everyone invited. Then ask: is this a dancing crowd? A wedding with a big family and an open bar runs toward 80%. A formal, older crowd runs closer to 60%. Kids count. Kids always dance.
When in doubt
